Harness the Power of Intention, Coincidence, and Awareness
Acknowledged as one of the world's greatest leaders in the field of mind body medicine, Deepak Chopra, M.D. continues to transform our understanding of the meaning of health. Through his creation of The Chopra Center for Well Being in California in 1995, Chopra established a formal vehicle for the expansion of his healing approach using the integration of the best of western medicine with natural healing traditions.
Dr. Chopra serves as the Director of Education at The Chopra Center, which offers training programs in mind body medicine (Journey into Healing). The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine has granted continuing medical education credits for this program, which satisfies requirements for the American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award. Through his partnership with David Simon, M.D. and numerous health care professionals in both conventional and complementary healing arts, Chopra's work is changing the way the world-views physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social wellness.
The Power of Coincidence
"There is a domain of consciousness where everything is inseparably one," said Deepak Chopra, M.D. (chopra.com), a leader in the field of mind body medicine, who was Wednesday's main guest. Chopra was discussing coincidences and suggested that when people have one they may have accidentally bumped into the "non-local" field where everything is connected.
He outlined a number of steps for harnessing the power of these coincidences, which included: * Learn to see the universe as an extension of yourself. * Identify whether your internal dialogue originates from either ego or spirit. * Learn to go beyond emotional turbulence. * Embrace your archetypal higher energies .
Chopra revealed that the profound philosopher J. Krishnamurti had been a great influence on him, and in his work he sought to reframe some of Krishnamurti's ideas to a larger audience. He invited listeners to check out the Alliance for the New Humanity, an organization he is involved with, that will be holding a symposium in Puerto Rico in December to "dream together a new reality."

We have all experienced coincidences that seemed extraordinary. Perhaps you were out on your bike and collided with another rider in front of a small café you’d never noticed before. Later in the week, you decide to eat lunch there and end up meeting your future wife at the next table. Or maybe you pick up the Sunday classified ads for no apparent reason and notice a job opening that interests you. A couple of weeks later you find out that your corporation is laying off everyone in your division. You suddenly remember the ad you saw and decide to apply. You go for the interview and the new company offers you an even better position that hadn’t been advertised. The Swiss psychologist Carl Jung coined a word to describe these moments of meaningful coincidence: synchronicity.
